About our school
The Children’s Lodge has been successfully running as a Montessori School since 1988. It orginally was a lodge which was carefully transformed into a purpose build Montessori School. We have car park at the back of the school.
The Lodge has of 2 large open plan spacious rooms, a hallway and a purpose built child sized kitchen. Our classrooms are cheerful and stimulating and are specifically adapted to suit childrens needs. We offer inclusive environments. Our indoor environment has direct access to our outdoor environment. Our outdoor area is surrounded by a large stone wall to ensure the safety of all children.

My 5 children went to The Children’s Lodge.I was new to Bandon and initially the main reason I send my first child was because it was a feeder school to Crossmahon.But as soon as my daughter started she loved it and in turn all of my children skipped into The Children’s Lodge every morning. I was a working mum but I knew when my children went to Montessori with Sinead they were in safe hands .Sinead runs a fabulous program .Communication was excellent. I still have their journals telling me what they did during their week so and plenty of photos-it’s a wonderful keepsake.Also their end of year scrapbook was invaluable with more photos and stories.But my favourite souvenir was their personal Christmas decorations.Every year we put them on our Christmas tree and they are just fabulous-I love them. Thank you Sinead for the wonderful memories .You are still the kids favourite teacher.

My 3 children attended the Children’s Lodge for many happy years. They each had a wonderful experience and we have many happy memories of their time there. Sinéad and her staff were so patient and kind, and always encouraged the kids to reach their own potential, both socially & creatively. The school was always spotlessly clean & tidy, and had excellent learning resources & toys to help the children’s development. It gave them a very solid foundation to begin their primary school journey. Nothing was ever a problem for Sinéad & her team, we had daily interaction and kept very much up to date on our children’s progress. I would highly recommend The Children’s Lodge to anyone looking for a playschool in the area.

I can’t recommend Sinead and all the lovely ladies at The Children’s Lodge enough. They are truly amazing! So warm, friendly and welcoming..not to mention very helpful too. My son loved attending school there.The fun ideas they come up with to help kids learn, the educational activities the kids take part in, the care they show every child, it’s a lovely environment for kids to be apart of. Even after my son graduated, Sinead went above and beyond to help with the transition from small school to big school. It’s small details like that that make such a huge difference as a parent. We were naturally apprehensive sending the baby of the family to playschool in Sept 2020. It was a strange and uncertain year courtesy of Covid 19. We are so glad we enrolled Chloe in The Childrens Lodge. Chloe has thrived in her limited time there and loves heading into her friends and teachers every day. The staff are always so warm & kind. The school itself is the perfect environment, relaxed and playful and safe.
I was particularly impressed this year with all the steps the school took in relation to dealing with the current pandemic. There was fantastic interaction with parents from the school whereby each day we got a message showing how Chloe was getting on and what she was doing. Even when the school had to close due to lockdown there has been continued support with children’s development and a wonderful effort to stay connected with the children, and in turn help the children stay connected with each other.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Childrens Lodge.
